We’re moving to Friday meets for our official meets because it helps with venue bookings, and hopefully will suit some people who haven’t been able to make it so far because of work

Our next sling meet will be on Friday 6th June, 10-12 am.

We’ll be in our usual haunt, the Family Learning Room at Rose Hill-Littlemore Children’s Centre – easily accessible on the no. 4 (red) or no. 3 (blue) buses and it’s normally ok for parking. For directions have a look at their website www.rosehill-littlemore.childrencentre.org.

The library will be there too! We have just had loads more amazingly top quality new donations, so it is definitely worth a look!

The system for the library is now: £2 per item for one month’s hire, plus a refundable £30 deposit (we take a cheque that we don’t bank and gets returned to you when you bring the sling back). Alternatively, become a member of Oxford Sling Meet for £5 for a year, and you don’t need to pay any deposits on library items.

Plus the usual drinks, chat, sling demos and a few toys for babies and toddlers.

We’ll be asking for a £1.50 donation again towards the cost of the venue.

The May Sling Meet was really successful. We had a lovely mix of experienced babywearers and new mums, and there were many different experiences shared from how to use different types of sling, different slings for different situations, advice how to make your own slings, and just about being a new mum!

This sling meet also saw the launch of the Oxfordshire Sling Library! We have had many wonderful donations from some great manufacturers. You can find out all about how to borrow a sling from our library here!

Don’t forget to also sign up to our Yahoo group for up to date information about what is going on with the Oxford Sling Meet, and just general chat about babywearing and events happening in our area.

With all this fine weather, we are also thinking about having a more informal meet in between the main Sling Meets. Maybe a walk in the park, or similar. Information will of course be posted here!
